Are Indians corrupt, rapists, this and
that… bloody third world
country? No.
Time magazine
USA painted Manmohan Singh like the
photo above, so
what did we do?
No, we did not
improve. We are
still going down
but this is
how we get
even : by painting Obama
as an underachiever
in an Indian magazine.
That’s the
way our head works. You point
our faults we
will point at
yours…as if this
is a competition
of who gets
to be worse!
Today every single
media is out
to paint India
like shit. The world
thinks we Indians
are bloody third
world…corrupt and rapists. From
developing country we
seem to be
pushed into the
category of the
underdeveloped. Now every Indian
with an ounce of
patriotism is looking
for an excuse
to get even
just like that
above picture! Or else
it will harm
the nation, they say.
What harm? It
will harm foreign
investment in all
fields from science
to tourism. No one
likes to put
their money into
a corrupt and
rapist country. Corruption
is like robbing
and if media
reports are to
be believed there
is not a
drop of honest
blood in India. So
if a country
is robbing its
own citizens then
it will rob
everyone. And rape? Well, if you
are raping your
own citizens then
of course you
will rape everyone.
Now, who wants
to come to
a country and
get robbed and rapped?
Of course
there are good
things here too…some
of them actually
great. can you see the tall buildings in the back?
So, should
media be blamed
for painting such
a shitty picture? I
think not. In
fact media should
be encouraged to
paint us in
more shit….and for
the time being
we should just not
try to get
even!
Before I
go ahead, let
me tell you I
am an
Indian and I
love my country
and want it
to be healthy, wealthy and
wise in every
field. I want
to proud that
my country is
a supper power. ..greater than every
single country on earth. I
want my country
to be a
great leader and
this and that.
But…In 66 years
of Independence India
has gone from
bad to worse…especially in the
last ten years
or so. There is
some or other
scams coming out
everyday…massive scams involving
millions of dollars and involving
everything from
coal to sports
to food. The
condition of women and children
has not improved
much. Poverty is still rampant. Illiteracy
and hunger
is still horrific. Inflation has
gone to the
heavens! There is politicization of everything God,
caste, language..…and yet children
are taught to parrot
“East or west India is
best”. But I
am no child. I
can see the
truth.
And
the truth:
There are
some or the
other protest going on somewhere,
with thousands of
people on the
streets, every single day, fighting against
corruption, rape, inflation and
god knows what
thousand problems that
ails my country.
Every single protest
dies under the
power of the
baton, tear gas, water
cannons and the
brutality of the
highly politicized police, without making
a single dent
in the minds
of our leaders.
The leaders,
police, courts,…all investigative
agencies have lost respect
and become a
joke.
Well, the
government doesn’t give a shit…it’s
continuing on its
path to destroy
the very fabric
of not just
democracy but humanity.
So
how do we
deal with it?
Since we
are not cleaning
our home ourselves,
let media paint
us in shit,
at least other countries
looking at
us with disgust
might make us
clean our home!
Don’t we
clean our homes
when we have
friends, relative or
acquaintances visiting us? Yes,
we worry about
what others might
think of us . isn’t
moral and ethics
build on how we
should behave in
society....social censure?
If our teachers
and parents shame
us enough we
do complete our
homework? If friends
shame enough even
the laziest amongst
us cleans the
couch!
Maybe
if the world
insults us enough,
maybe our so
called leaders especially
those wining and
dining around the world all suited
booted will
be shamed enough.
If
people point us
out as robbers
and rapists…maybe we
will open our
eyes to the
half naked, hungry ,
illiterate and pathetic
existence of half
of our own…maybe
our conscience will
bite us …. maybe then
we will clean
our country….since we
are not doing
our homework let
others make us
do it.
Yes, we
will lose investment in
money and goodwill. But
then we are
anyway losing it. …at
least we might
have hope of
a good future.
And Yes, my hope
for a solution is
born out of
utter frustration but if
you do have
another viable solution
please let
me know.
Brilliant!!! Just awesome!! I can feel your righteous anger!!
