Sexual freedom

Sexual  freedom  is  not  about  sex,  it  is  about  freedom.
If  men  have  a  right  to  feel  good  when  they  are  called  studs  so  do  I  feel  good  when  I  am  called   a  slut.
 “If  men  have  a  right  to  sleep  with  10  women  so  do  I  have  a  right  to  sleep  with  ten  men.” there  was  an  argument  of  how  men  and  women  were  different  and  I  opened  my  loud  mouth  to  say  this. We  were  having  summer  vacation  and  we  were  about  thirty  people(uncles, aunts  and  cousins)  having  a  great  time  in  my  grandmother’s  home.

I  was  asked  to  apologize. I  refused.

My  mother  was  asked  to  apologize  on  my  behalf.  She  said, “it  is  my  child’s  opinion.” She  refused  an  apology  in  a  roundabout  way.

“She  is  too  young  to  understand  men  and  women  are  different.” Said  my  grandmother.

“She is  young  and  this  is  the  time  when  they  learn  to  be  wayward.” Said  an  uncle.

The  entire  man  brigade  of  ten  or  so   jumped  into  the  argument  all  furious  and  loud. The  women  just  shut  up  and  watched , most  of  them  nodding  in  agreement.

“This  is  the  right  time  to  control  the  girls.”

“She  will  teach  others…she  is  a  bad  influence.”

I  did   not  buzz  from  my  stand. I  cried  a  lot.  I  was  12  years  old  them. I  keep  repeating  what  I  said.  Since  I  was  just   12   I  did  not  have  the  right  words  to  argue  neither  my voice  was  so  loud  that  I  could  shout  back   at   ten  men  all  shouting  at  me.  But  I  knew  I  was  right.

Our  family  was  asked  to  leave.

We  had  to  pack  our  bags  in  the  middle  of  the  night  and  leave. .                                                   

 

 It’s  been  years  and  years  since  that  argument.

Today  I  believe  even  more  firmly :  “If  men  have  a  right  to  sleep  with  10  women  so  do  women  have  a  right  to  sleep  with  10  men.”

Call  a  woman  a  slut  and  it  is  demeaning  but  call  a man  a  stud  it  is  like  giving  him  a  Nobel  prize!

Why  the   difference?

If  morality  in  men  is  defined  by  their  head  why  should  the  morality  of   women  be  defined  by  their   ass?

The  question  of  sexual  freedom  is  important.

Sexual   freedom  is  not  about  sex  it  is  about  freedom.

Because  the  question  of  sexual  freedom  is  about  power  it’s  not  about  sex….just  like  the  questions  about  freedom  to  education,  food…etc…any  kind  of  freedom  is  about  power.

Anyone  asking  for  freedom   from  the  social  shackles  is  saying  a  few  things:

1.  You  no  longer  are  my teacher,  preacher,  my  lord  or  my  master.

2.  You  are  unworthy  in  all  possible  ways.

3.  I  have  to  unlearn  all  that  you  taught.

4. I  have  found  a  proof  of  your  stupidity  and  a  better  path  for  myself.

So  basically  the  seeker  is  saying :  Fuck  You.

If  someone  wants  freedom  from  social  norms   they  are  not  just  asking  it  to  let  go  but  telling  it  that  it  is  not  worthy  to  hold  them  anymore.

And  that  is  the  redistribution  of  power. The   highest  form  of  insult.    

That  is  the  kind  of   power  men  and  this  society  still  have  over  women…the  right  they  have  to  control  our  destiny…the  power  they  do  not  want  to  hand  over.  The  power  of  possession….of  ownership. 

I  want  that  power  to   be  mine.

It  is  simple : I  want  myself   back.

I  do  not  wish  to  control   you  and  likewise  you  should  not  control  me….let  it  be  by  using  all  sorts  of  trick  and  techniques : 

Do  not  use  religion  to  control  me.

Do  not  use  money  to control  me.

No   mental   binding ,  no  social  binding.
Don't  use  morality to  trap  me.
                                           

                        

I   was   born   free  and   in  intend  to  stay  free.

I   might   be  borrowed  through   genes, through  social  conditioning,  through   emotional  and  intellectual  feeding  to  an   extent  but  my  life   is  still  mine.

What  I  learn  and  what  I  will  unlearn  is  mine  to  chose.

I  want   my  control   back…I  don’t  want  to  dictate   how  men  or  this  society  should  live  their  life  and  the  same  way  I  do  not  want  them  to  tell  me  what  I  should  do.    

I  do  not  want  to  be  told  how  or  why  I  should   be  protected.

There  is  a  saying  in India, “Women  are  like  diamonds .  Would  you  leave  your  diamonds  in  the  open  or  you  put  them  in  a  locker?”

Another  one  : “we  worship  women  as  our  goddess  mother.  Would  you  like  to  see  our  goddess  mother  dressed  like  a  slut.” 

No,  I  am  no  diamond  nor  I  am  a  goddess.  These  are  just  mouse  traps  laden  with  cheese.

Call  me  precious  and   lock  me?

Call  me  a  goddess  and  worship  me?

I  don’t  want  to  be   a  goddess  or  a  diamond   if  it  takes  away  my  right  to  be  a  human.

I  am  not  saying  that  all  the  woman  should  go  and  sleep  with  as  many  men  as  they  can. 

                                                     

This   is  no  competition.

But  yes,  if  women  want  to  they  have  a  right  to.

I  do  not  believe  I  should  smoke  but  if  I  want  to  I  have  a  right. The  same  way  I  have  a  right  to   roam  the  streets  half  naked,  sit  in  a  bar,  go  to  a   disco….or   whatever.

The  same  way  I  have   a  right  to  food,  clothing,  education,  employment  the  same  way  I  have  the  right  to  sexual  freedom  in  this   man  dominated  society.

Yes,  men  and  their  society  are  scared   they  are  losing  control  over   women.  And  their  reaction  to  it  is  the  rising  eve  teasing,  molestations,  rapes  and  those  million  crimes  against  women  both  inside  homes  and  outside. Yes,  these  crimes  are  their  only  way  to  tell  themselves   and  us  they  are   still  our  Gods,  our   masters….and   we   should   fear  them. 
                                           

 

But  one  thing  should  be  learned   from  history :  nature   corrects  whatever  is  wrong  sooner  than   later.

And  most  of  the  times  it  overcorrects!

See  what  happened  to  castism,  racism …and  all  those  isms  that  divided  the  world  during  old  ages… what  was  lower  in  the  social  scale  instead  of  becoming  equal  has  jumped  up…and  has  become  a  privilege  today.  The  same  way  feminism  will  go  rigid  if  women  are  not  handed  their  rights  in  a  decent  manner.

Because  if  rights  are  not  given they  will  be  taken  by  force  of  will. That  is  the  lesson  history  points   out.

Remember  Darwin’s  survival  of   the  fittest? It   talks  not  just  how  we  came  to  be  here  but  also  tells  how  our  future  will  turn  out  to  be.

On   an  average  men  are  physically  stronger  than  women. The  rest  of  the  weakness:  emotional,  social  and  intellectual  have  been  forced  upon  us  because  we  are  physically  weaker.   A  day  might  come  when  we  will  be  equals  in  all  ways….if  a  single  cell  amoeba  can   mutate   to  become   a  human  in  a  million  years   then  I  am  sure  for  a  woman  to  get  stronger  than   man  in  every  way  will  not   take   much  time.

Because  we  have  to  survive  and  we  will.
Today  you   are  the  fittest,  tomorrow  we  will be.

So  this  is  me  calling  a  truce   before  I  get  the  fittest…before  I  become  a  master….this is  me  giving  you  a  chance…..I  don’t  stomp  you,  so   you  don’t   stomp  me.

We ,  men  and  women,  have   been  together  through  years…so  let’s  have   a   symbiotic  relationship  and  not  a   parasitic  one.   

So,  like  I  said  it’s  not  a  competition  but  if  men  and  their  society  want  it  so  be  it.

Sexual   freedom  is  my  right  to  have.
I  know   the  day  I  have   it,  it  will  be  the  last  day  in  shackles. 

Either  de-slut  me  and  call  me  a  she-stud  or   call  all  the  studs  in  the  world  he-sluts.  

And  I  want   those  oxford  dictionary  guys  to  work  on  that. 

When   injustice  becomes  the  law  resistance  becomes  our  duty.
